By eight votes to two, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) overturned the single-justice ruling by Justice André Mendonça that had extended the work of the joint congressional inquiry committee (CPMI) on the INSS. Justice Flávio Dino opened the dissenting opinion, arguing that the matter falls within the internal jurisdiction of the National Congress. Another meeting of the National Council for Fiscal Policy (CONFAZ) is scheduled for today in São Paulo to discuss fuel pricing. The party-switching window closes on April 3. During this period, holders of proportional offices—federal, state, and district legislators—may switch parties without risking the loss of their mandates.
