According to Finance Minister Fernando Haddad, the meeting to finalize fiscal measures has been scheduled for this morning. At that time, President Lula will meet with the ministers that comprise the Budget Execution Board (JEO). Yesterday, in an interview with Rede TV!, Lula stated that fiscal adjustments cannot be made solely at the expense of the most vulnerable population. Lula questioned whether Congress would agree to reduce deputies' and senators' funds if he were to cut spending. While the government needs to discuss spending cuts, there is also pressure to increase spending. The federal government will propose adjustments for committee and gratification positions that range between 9% and 30% to be paid between 2025 and 2026.
