The Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) of the Lower House approved the admissibility of two constitutional amendment proposals (PECs) that aim to reduce the workweek in Brazil. In practice, the proposals would eliminate the six-days-on, one-day-off (6x1) schedule. Yesterday, presidential pre-candidate Romeu Zema (Novo) took part in a debate on the electoral outlook. Zema opposed the reduction of the 6x1 schedule, describing the proposal as “populist.” The rapporteur of the bill establishing the National Policy on Critical and Strategic Minerals (PL 2780/24), Representative Arnaldo Jardim (Cidadania-SP), postponed the presentation of his report to May 4. According to him, the government requested the delay to negotiate changes.
