Senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) met with presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) to discuss the possibility of joining his ticket as the vice-presidential nominee. So far, there has been no confirmation that she has been chosen for the position. Wednesday is the deadline for political parties to hold their national conventions to formally nominate candidates and approve electoral coalitions. Candidates must register with the Electoral Court by August 15, and the official campaign period begins on August 16. Supreme Federal Court Justice André Mendonça has authorized the Federal Police to open an investigation into allegations involving businessman Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as "Lulinha", the son of President Lula. The case has the potential to become a source of political pressure on Lula's reelection campaign.
