Senate President Alcolumbre sent the 6x1 work schedule proposal to the CCJ, Lula’s provisional measure on the “blouse tax” expires on Sep. 8, and Lula continues to criticize online betting
According to his staff, Senate President Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) has signed the order sending the proposed constitutional amendment (PEC) that would end the 6-on, 1-off (6x1) work schedule to the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ). This means the proposal should reach the CCJ in the coming days. The provisional measure eliminating the “blouse tax” expires on September 8. A rapporteur has yet to be appointed. The issue is popular, and Lula suffered politically when the tax on international purchases of up to US$50 was introduced. He therefore issued the provisional measure eliminating the levy. Online betting is another issue of concern to the government. The goal is to link household debt and delinquency rates to gambling. Lula has therefore become more explicit in his criticism of betting and has made the issue one of his campaign themes this election year.
