New information about Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court (STF) has emerged, further increasing pressure on the Court. Justice André Mendonça, the justice overseeing the Banco Master case before the STF, met with Daniel Vorcaro without the Federal Police present. Today, Senate President Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP) will meet with party leaders to discuss impeachment requests against Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. Despite the controversy surrounding the STF, the government secured important advances in Congress. The Senate approved legislation on critical minerals, which now heads to the president for signature. The proposed constitutional amendments on public security and the elimination of the six-day workweek also advanced, although floor votes were postponed until after the first round of the elections.
