Missão’s presidential candidate, Renan Santos (Missão), performed well in his interview with Jornal Nacional. Renan showed that he had a clear strategy and did not shy away from questions, even when he had to defend controversial and unpopular measures. Compared with Romeu Zema and Ronaldo Caiado, Renan delivered the strongest performance. Yesterday, President Lula met with House Speaker Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB) and Senate President Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) to discuss the legislative agenda for next week. Lula is seeking to create a positive agenda amid the political fallout from the Lulinha case. As for exempting low value-purchases from the import tax, the measure must first be voted on by the Joint Committee and then by the full House and Senate. The expectation is that voting will be completed next week.
