The interview with PSD presidential candidate and former Goiás governor Ronaldo Caiado on Jornal Nacional was marked by a lack of concrete policy proposals. On several questions, Caiado chose to sidestep the issues raised. Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM) confirmed that he will present his report tomorrow on the constitutional amendment proposal (PEC) that would end the 6-on, 1-off (6x1) work schedule (PEC 221/2019). Aziz also said that he will review all amendments submitted by senators but indicated that he intends to preserve the substance of the text approved by the Lower House. According to the Brazilian government, Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) Márcio Elias Rosa and U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Greer will meet virtually next Monday (August 31) at 2:30 p.m. Brasília time.
