President Lula will attend a ceremony at the Planalto Palace this morning to sign a provisional measure aimed at reducing the impact of the 50% tariff imposed by the United States on Brazilian exports. With confirmation hearings for appointees to regulatory agencies scheduled for next Tuesday (August 19), the Senate Infrastructure Committee will hold a session today, August 13, to read the reports. The committee will review 17 appointments next week. Today, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) may resume its trial on the legality of charging the Contribution for Intervention in the Economic Domain (Cide) on financial remittances abroad as payment for contracts. The vote currently stands at 4–2 in favor of the Federal Government.
