Today, the Lower House and the Senate begin a week of concentrated legislative activity. The voting agenda has yet to be finalized. This morning, Institutional Relations Minister José Guimarães and government leaders in Congress will have breakfast with Finance Minister Dario Durigan in an effort to coordinate the voting agenda. There is also an expectation that President Lula will meet with Senate President Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) to discuss the government’s priorities in the Senate, including the proposed constitutional amendment to end the six-days-on, one-day-off work schedule. Lula’s relationship with Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB) is good. In fact, the House president has announced his support for Lula’s reelection.
