The period for party conventions ends on Wednesday (August 5). This will be a decisive week for Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), who is seeking to bring the União Progressista Federation (União Brasil–PP) and the Republicanos party onto his presidential ticket. Congress and the Judiciary resume their activities. However, neither the Lower House nor the Federal Senate will hold floor votes, as the next legislative voting sessions have been scheduled for the week beginning August 10 and again between August 31 and September 3. Meanwhile, the Central Bank will announce its decision on the benchmark interest rate.
