Mar 26 Government: Kazakhstan excluded Shell’s and Eni's participation in the Karachaganak gas processing plant project. Banking system: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank intends to establish a subsidiary bank in Kazakhstan. KMG: The company’s net profit decreased by 2% in 2025. KMG: Joint project with Russian LUKOIL to develop the Kalamkas-sea and Khazar oil fields has been suspended due to sanctions. Mar 27 Eurasian Intergovernmental Council: An expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council took place in Shymkent. Prime-minister: Kazakhstan proposed to create an AI-based freight traffic coordination platform in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Eurasian Intergovernmental Council: Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan urged to remove internal trade barriers within the EAEU. Finance Ministry: Export duty on oil in Kazakhstan since April 2026 will amount to $90 per ton (up by 30% m-o-m). Energy Ministry: UAV attacks on Ust-Luga port did not affect Kazakh oil supplies.
