Jul 29 Foreign Ministry: The Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and the US discussed the CPC situation by phone. Jul 30 National railways: Freight traffic by rail between Kazakhstan and China increased by 9% y-o-y in 1H26. CPC: The company halted oil shipments at its marine terminal after a UAV attack on a tanker but continues to receive oil into storage. Jul 31 KMG: The company and China’s CNPC began a feasibility study to expand the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline. Aug 1 Energy Ministry: The full shutdown of the CPC pipeline is not being considered. Aug 3 National nuclear company: Kazatomprom increased uranium production by 9% y-o-y in 1H26. Bureau of National Statistics: In July, inflation slowed to 10.2% y-o-y and 0.6% m-o-m from 10.3% and 0.8% in July. ExxonMobil: The company reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Kazakhstan. NBK: The Bank plans to sell FX from the National Fund $200–300 mln in August. Aug 6 Government: Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have finished laying the Trans‑Caspian fiber‑optic cable along the seabed. Oil transportation: Oil and gas condensate shipments through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline fell 8.5% in 1H26. Foreign Ministry: The foreign ministers of Kazakhstan and Romania condemned actions threatening the CPC infrastructure. Aug 7 KMG: As of now, Kazakhstan has no alternative to the CPC, but the search is ongoing. KMG: The company plans to boost oil exports via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline by 31% in 2026. KMG: The company plans to use tank farms to store oil in case of transportation disruptions.
