Yesterday, a new round of the Genial/Quaest presidential polling was released. The poll reinforces the polarized landscape between President Lula and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro. Lula leads in both first- and second-round scenarios. The absence of São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas from the poll strengthens the perception that he is likely to run for reelection as governor rather than enter the presidential race. A meeting scheduled for today between President Lula and Speaker of the Lower House Hugo Motta to discuss the proposal to end the 6x1 work schedule has been postponed until after Carnaval. Political tensions are also expected to rise in Brasília today following reports of information extracted from the cell phone of Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master. The name of Supreme Court Justice Dias Toffoli appeared in the initial disclosures.
